I made this for the holiday of Shavuot, where, just like during the 9 days before Tisha B’Av we have a custom to eat dairy foods. Very easy, really delicious. The only thing was that I used up my beer to cook with and didn’t have any left to drink with the fish. Also, I shallow fried these but you can certainly do a deep fry, and if you have any extra batter then make some onion rings!
Tilapia
1 lb tilapia filet’s, halved, rinsed, and dried with paper towel
1 cup + 1/3 cup flour
1 cup beer (your favorite)
salt & pepper to taste, and any seasonings you like
Heat a frying pan with a little olive or vegetable oil. Whisk together the 1 cup flour, beer, and seasonings. If the batter is too wet add some more flour. Dredge the filet’s in the 1/3 cup flour, and then coat completely in the beer batter. Fry over medium/high heat until browned on both sides.
Tzatziki
1 cup plain yogurt
2 cloves garlic, grated
1 small cucumber, finely chopped
2 tbsp cilantro, basil, or mint, or a combo of the 3, finely chopped
salt and pepper, to taste
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and serve with the fish.

If you take another look at the blurb above, you’ll see that one of the ingredients is “Greek”. I love them too but not fried! Everything else sounds orgasmic (in a kosher way).
