Pasta Carbonara

My take on a classic. Thanks Nadia G for hooking me up with the basic method so I can make it my own version of your Dirty Carbonara. This is also a great way to use leftover cooked meats, or you can use an equal amount of pastrami, corned beef, beef/turkey bacon, etc. Non Dairy :)

Italian Eggrolls

I think it is safe to say that the list of famous people I’ve met is now 1 name longer. Cobra Starship, 3OH!3, the Power Rangers, Nadia Giosia, Kelsey Nixon, and the Halliwell Manor from Charmed. Ok the last one isn’t a person, its a place. But you know what?! It doesn’t matter, because that has nothing to do with the awesomeness that is the Italian Eggroll. Make it. Taste it. Love it.

Pasta “Niente de Mangiare”

Niente de Mangiare is Italian for “nothing to eat.” Thats how I felt after I got back to my apartment after Rosh Hashana. After stuffing my face at my parents house for 3 days, I had to come back to reality. And the reality was that I had no groceries in my fridge. I had a bottle of wine, some ground meat and pesto in the freezer, dry pasta, and spices. So, I did what any resourceful man would do: make something out of nothing. Here’s what to do when you’re low on groceries:

Jalepeno Poppers – Take 2. Dairy.

I took the recipe for my Stuffed Mushrooms, and combined it with my recipe for my meaty Jalepeno Poppers. And voila! We have Dairy Jalepeno Poppers. They were a spicy hit. and super easy to make. You can roast the jalepeno’s, and make the filling the night before, and the day of just fill the peppers and bake. Easier than Ashlee Simpson, and hotter than Pete Wentz. Will make you sing like Patrick Stump.

Interview with Nadia Giosia, Host of “Bitchin Kitchen”

You all know I’ve met a few celebrities. It’s no secret. Cobra Starship. The Power Rangers. 3OH!3. Kelsey Nixon. Some, like Cobra Starship, will probably never be my patients. Others, like the Power Rangers, will set up playdates for their kids and mine some day. But someone I can count on to make me laugh and to create amazingly delicious food is Nadia Giosia, host of Cooking Channel’s “Bitchin Kitchen.”  If you don’t already watch her show, you should start. The comedienne has been running her own online cooking show for the last seven years, and created the first show ever to bloom from the internet and blossom to television.

Penne a la Bolognese

This was probably one of the first things I learned to make when I moved out of my parents house 3 yrs ago. It’s hearty, it’s healthy, and full of flavor. And its really easy to make, especially when you ain’t got no money or no car to take her on a date….

Penne alla Vodka, PAREVE!!!!

Oh. Em. Gee. Am I good or what?  I tweaked a recipe to make pareve “alla vodka” sauce, and let me I tell you, methinks it works. Totally delicious, and can be served along side any form of meat product you like. Since I was too lazy to make some meat for myself today, i garnished with some grated parmesan cheese, as evidenced in the photo below… however the sauce is completely pareve. The only thing that could have made this better is to have thrown in some leaves of fresh basil at the end. yummmm! And heck, why not have yourself a shot of vodka with the meal? You deserve it :)

Pesto Sauce – Pareve

Pesto sauce is great in a variety of different dishes. This recipe is great in the summer. I created something different from the usual Basil and Pine Nut pesto, and it tastes amazing. You can make this with any single or combination of herbs and nuts you like.
